Benefits of Business Enterprise System Implementation

Abstract


The usefulness of the enterprise system is increasing in the market as globalization makes businesses more competitive. Mostly, ES focuses on small and medium-size businesses whose urge to expand is increasingly high. The purpose of this paper is to discuss ES applications onan ES consultant perspective on (i) the business benefits of ES applications (ii) the ES practices and implementation by considering the contexts and stages involved in the implementation. The paper does so by integrating information obtained from other researchers on matters Enterprise Systems. The ES consultant perspective selected in this paper provides a comprehensive description of the business benefits and implementation practices involving ES applications. By considering data from other researches, the paper discovered that ES has business benefits that have improved business activities, thereby, encouraging more investments on the systems. Also, the paper recognizes that ES implementation involves activities that primarily require business’ attention and priority. Thus, critical factors influencing ES implementation is discussed along motivating factors for the same.
